About After-Dinner Entertainment

My belated birthday celebration yesterday. It was fun, although for once we broke away from tradition and didn't go to Fish & Co. Wonder if that was the right thing to do. Perhaps they'd have had the Chocolate Fudge Cake since the eggs are back in supply. Oh well what's done is done and I, for once, can't do anything about it.

So dinner was eel sushi, soft-shelled crabs, tempura prawns-with-shell, lobster sushi, nice golden gyoza, crispy fried tofu, oreo cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake and this particularly delectable dessert called Cocoa Sand, which no one really seemed to like except me. But then I have always had exceptional taste.

After that was the second course of dessert which was ice cream-and-sorbet at Häagen-Daaz. But that is not the interesting point. The interesting point was the accompaning entertainment which came with it (and we got the best seats in the house!):

So we were sitting facing the window which showed Scotts and chatting merrily as people in my company always do, when suddenly we realised that on the pedestrian walk from Häagen-Daaz to Scotts, was seated at old-man-who-was-pretending-to-be-blind-we-guessed-since-he-was-holding-this-really-long-stick peddingly his wares or rather tissue paper? But that was not what was amusing. What was amusing was that behind him stood not one or two or three, but FOUR policemen!! What was more, the four policemen were not doing anything except hanging around and looking as though they did not know what to do.

Logically, Fluffy, Qing Jia Beeboooooo and I deduced that they were trying to stop the man from sitting in the middle of the pedestrian walk (which by the way was also a road which cars had to cross when they came out of the Mariott carpark)! Being inquisitive of mind, we happily gawked at them through the window for around half-an-hour, all the time commenting how ridiculous it was that ONE old-man-pretending-to-be-blind required FOUR policemen who, by the way, continued standing around looking as though they didn't know what to do. Security forces these days...

Then we decided to take a picture so Qing Jia Beebooooooo pretended to pose for the camera. Unfortunately, the flash from the camera alerted the astute policemen who then began to stare at us staring at them. Oh dear. Then the policemen stopped standing in a row and stood in two pairs in a valiant attempt to make themselves look less conspicuous (opined Fluffy) and blend in with the surroundings (stated ME). They continued standing. The old man was not pleased.

Following this, a social worker arrived and in less than 10 minutes, talked the old man away and the affair was happily settled.

Would show you all the picture only it turned out badly since the flash reflected against the window and all we have is a ghostly image of Qing Jia Beeboooooooooooooooo! [Ghostly... (Bee)BOO!!.. Get it?]

So long for now!

About Celebration

Happy Birthday to ME!! Heh.

Not really a happy day today. Torts test. Torts tutorial. *Sigh*

Years and years from now I shall sadly recall that I spent my 19th birthday in a tortious and tort-urous (Ha ha!) situation. (Oh goodness... my sense of humour is now legalised! Bleargh.)

Oh and the point of this post is to make people who have conveniently forgotten to bid me well come away from my blog in muted horror. Shame on you! *looks sorrowfully at certain misfeants* How could you!

You may redeem yourselves by getting me something nice.

About Revival

It's been a while since I've blogged. Very sleepy now because I had too heavy a dinner... plus it's way past my bedtime, or rather what has been my bedtime these days... I hope I don't get a nightmare... Qing Jia says rich dinners give you nightmares... but then... what does Qing Jia know.

First and foremost, let me congratulate Fluffy-puff aka Wei Wei who won third place in the Beauty Contest!! You have a bright future before you! Rich men tend to marry ex-pageant winners. Well done!

Secondly, let me say farewell to all my friends who have left these few weeks. Jan (lunch partner), Serry, Poon, Bird, Janice (who technically has not left, only gone a-sailing with the Navy). I will do my best not to miss you all. Luckily it has always been easy for me to do my best.

Alright, back to the Post-of-Today's events. Dinner (AGAIN) at Fish & Co. I swear I must go there less, I'm really growing fat. The food was excellent, better than usual I would say, plus the company was great. A certain poly-doctor-to-be-or-so-he-claims (ah! The folly of youth and too much alcohol) once said that Fish & Co never disappoints. If you have bad company, the food compensates; and if you have good company, well you get icing on the cake. Speaking of cake, Fish & Co was tragically out of Hot Fudge Chocolate Cake (AGAIN... like the last time we went there, which was the day before we got rid of Ali), cause the egg supply is gone cause of the bird flu in a little peninsula right above us on the atlas. Trust M'sia to do us an inconvenience! Then again, maybe they just stopped making the Cake cause the pig who eats enough of it to support the Cake factory has left for Cornell. Poor Wei Wei was so sad! Aww... then we adjourned to Cafe Cartel for dessert, which was amazingly bad. You can't have everything. Wei and Qing-ie already had my company.

Then, we went home and met Xiu Xiu on the bus, who deplored me to post again (as did Wei Wei and Qing-ie and Ali and so on and forth), so here: this post is for all of you! Anyway they all say that I am disgracefully narcissistic. How awfully sweet of them. But yes, they have a point: I am as stately as that flower.

On a separate note, I have to say that the effect of army uniform on guys is amazing! That day I say one of my classmates in his... No. 2/3/4? Goodness... he actually didn't look bad!! What a pleasant surprise it was! There really just is something about men in uniform. Must really look around when I am up and about in my neighbourhood, I live just steps away from Mindef; now to catch someone in Airforce blue! (though personally I do prefer the Navy' blue and white, but personal preferences must be put aside; I have got to act for my greater good)

Lastly, people say I have expectations that are far too high for my own good. So I have decided that I shall cast away all of them when I reach the ripe, old age of 30 and settle for anyone (well, more or less...). The thought of being a spinster is just too much for me. Well I have more than 11 years left to work with, so I better be safe. And NO, Qing Jia and Wei Wei!! I refuse to join the SDU!!!
